Annotation

The article summarizes the experience of using the constitutional component of the legal education system as a means of patriotic education of students. The authors note the dependence of the effectiveness of educational work at the present time on the success of updating its content, form, organization in conjunction with subject training, the expansion of the educational process’ competence-based orientation. Based on the principles of cognitive pedagogy, methods of law axiology and social constructivism, the authors show a close relationship between the content of patriotic education and the legal socialization of the younger generation, including the formation of students’ constitutional legal awareness and the development of their constitutional identity. The implementation of this approach is considered by the authors as an element of an innovative model of civic education, which has a high pedagogical potential and meets the key trends in the development of Russian constitutionalism.
