Annotation

The paper presents a historical and theoretical analysis of the evolution of the doctrinal understanding of the institution of legal conflict in social and legal thought, in order to identify the main historical stages of development in understanding conflict and its consolidation as an institution within the framework of legal science. Special attention is paid to the formation of conflict as an independent object of scientific knowledge within the framework of classical sociology and modern schools of conflict, as well as its conceptualization in Russian jurisprudence. Based on the conducted research, conclusions are drawn about the historical transformation of the understanding of the institution of legal conflict under the influence of social factors of different eras of the development of the state and law, and the main stages of the formation and consolidation of legal conflictology as a scientific field are identified.
