Annotation

The article identifies the forms and methods used by the government of the Russian Empire in the integration of the Kalmyk and Buryat peoples. The role of legal acts that established the features of the management system of the “eastern foreigners” is shown. It is emphasized that one of the main tasks was to collect taxes and taxes from nomadic and settled peoples included in the empire. The peculiarities of the policy of the imperial authorities to improve the system of governance of the peoples living in the eastern part of the state are revealed. Such a policy contributed to the successful development of the peoples that became part of Russia, and was also aimed at strengthening state unity.
