MAIN TRENDS IN LEGAL PROTECTION OF REFUGEES: NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ASPECTS

The article examines the main trends in the protection of refugee rights at the international and national levels. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the need to find a legal balance between the interests of receiving states, states of origin of refugees and the refugees themselves. In accordance with the purpose, the article sets the following tasks: to reveal different approaches to regulating the rights of forced migrants; show differences in the national and international level of protection of refugee rights; characterize theoretical and practical problems associated with the legal regulation of refugee status at the national and international levels. As a result of the work, it was concluded that, on the one hand, attempts to improve national migration legislation and the international mechanism for protecting the rights of refugees are aimed at developing a universal approach to mass migrations in order to provide legal protection to as many people as possible, on the other hand, modern international law has not formed a single holistic system for regulating mass migrations, which entails disputes within and between states in the process of resolving the issue of legal consolidation of the balance between refugees and the host state.
