Annotation
The article is devoted to the study of the goals of international legal responsibility. The article reveals the key concepts, provides a description of preventive, security and compensatory goals, identifies their significance, and also examines the principles of international legal responsibility. As a result of the study, it was established that the goals of international legal responsibility are the fundamental concept of the institution of responsibility in international law, and the main obstacles to achieving the goals of international legal responsibility were identified. Attention is also paid to the position of foreign researchers on the issue under study.
