Annotation

The article critically examines the modern idea of criminal justice functions based on the basic provisions of the theory of the functions of law. The study used the method of a systematic approach, in particular its historical, structural, functional and communication elements. The author’s system of classifications of the functions of criminal procedural law is proposed for discussion, indicating the grounds for their construction. It is concluded that the proposed classifications of criminal justice functions correspond to its purpose more accurately and fully and can contribute to a deeper understanding of the essence of this branch of law and its social significance.
