Annotation

The article provides an overview of the main reports delivered at the All-Russian Forum of Legal Historians in St. Petersburg, June 10–11, 2022. The forum was organized by the All-Russian Public Organization “Association of Legal Historians”. The event was attended by scientists from seventeen regions of the Russian Federation. Speeches at the plenary session and round tables were devoted to such important aspects of modern legal science as the features and stages of its development, the methodology of the history of state and law, the role of legal education in different periods of the existence of Russian statehood, periodization of the course of the history of state and law. The Congress participants stated that the transition to a new scientific rationality requires updating the methodological apparatus of historical and legal science. The important role of historical and legal knowledge in the system of legal education was emphasized. Also within the framework of the forum, a round table on the philosophy of law was held, at which scientists outlined modern approaches to understanding law and its role in regulating public relations in the postmodern era.
