Annotation

The paper examines the current state of the institute of legal monitoring in the Russian Federation. Special attention is paid to identifying and analyzing the reasons that led to a decrease in the importance of legal monitoring as a technology used to improve the effectiveness of legal regulation. The measures aimed at improving the application of legal monitoring (law enforcement monitoring) are proposed, taking into account the capabilities of modern digital technologies and the experience of the Republic of Belarus. Some of the most serious problems that significantly reduce the effectiveness of legal monitoring can be solved by making changes to the legislation of the Russian Federation and introducing digital technologies into the process of preparing and conducting law enforcement monitoring.
