Annotation
The article examines the formation of the features of Russian legal consciousness at the dawn of Russian statehood. The factors that stimulated the fusion of innovations
related to the reception of Byzantine norms and folk customs and ideologies of East Slavic tribes in Ancient Russia and the early Russian Middle Ages are analyzed. Russian Russian legal consciousness Based on the analysis of ecclesiastical and secular sources of law, literature, oral folk art, and philosophemes of the period under review, a conclusion is drawn about the formation of invariant foundations of Russian legal consciousness, correlating with the mentality of the Russian people and shaped into a system through Christian ideology. Among them: patriotism, respect for traditions and brotherhood, collectivist and paternalistic attitudes of legal consciousness, identification of law with power and the state, generalized image of a warrior defender of the Motherland and others. These phenomena have been preserved in the depths of the national legal culture, ensuring its reproduction and development.
