Annotation
The article is an overview of a scientific conference that discussed important historical and legal issues related to the Decembrist uprising, the development of the state
and law in the first half of the nineteenth century. The content of the reports presented at the plenary session is shown. The main ideas expressed by the participants of the event are highlighted. The scientific community’s continuing interest in the historical and legal past, including the reign of Emperor Nicholas I, has been noted. The importance of introducing students to science was emphasized.
