Annotation

The article examines the problems and prospects of realizing the right to freedom of con­science at the international and domestic levels, including Russia. Approaches to solving the identified problems are proposed. It is concluded that the improvement of the principles, norms and mechanisms for the protection of human rights in the field of freedom of conscience will help to overcome ethnic and confessional conflicts and strengthen international security.
